EconomyPlate carbon fiber sheets utilize a C70-40 Airex foam that is a unique closed cell, cross-linked polymer foam core. This is a lightweight structural foam that has good impact strength. While great for high strength applications which require a low panel weight, this is a carbon fiber foam core laminate that can resist crushing forces and supply an adequate mounting surface. The lay-up design is 0/90 orientation of carbon fiber on each side of a .5″ Airex foam core center. Two face sheet thickness options of .010″ or .030″ are available. Face sheet finish is texture on both sides for bonding to other surfaces. For foam specifications, please refer to the official Airex Data Sheet.
